How much money will you need for daily expenses in China?
The answer depends on how you like to travel, some days you may eat from hawker stalls and other times you might try an avant-garde fine-dining restaurant before heading to the opera. Given the choices on offer, the costs associated can vary.
The average daily cost for sightseeing, transport, food and entertainment is ¥220 Yuan Renminbi, which is around $34 US dollars at the time of writing this article.
You can find ATMs in big cities and towns. Credit cards are not widely used so always carry cash.
Tipping in cheap-mid range restaurants is not expected. In general, there is no need to tip. You may find a service charge has already been added so check your bill for one.
